So glad you've had that experience! A friend suggested a massage after my husband and mother died. Magical! Later a co-worker suggested massage when my back started failing. I needed to be reminded what "to feel good" felt like. It has been part of my routine practice of self-kindness ever since. I was offered healing touch prior to and after my first major surgery and all those since (knee replacements, hysterectomy, lumbar fusion, and breast cancer). I thank God for all the caring people of the world.

Thanks for sharing your stories, Robin! Care for the body is so important. Whenever the uber-stoic Protestant voice pipes up in me, suggesting it might be decadent or indulgent, I like imagining Jesus and all the women in his inner circle who were clearly so dedicated to the care of bodies. Thanks be to God for all the body care-givers!

Lovely memories and healing experience for you. I had Nancy’s healing touch therapy a few years ago. Such a calming spirit. Thanks for the post.
