What a joy to see how Chet has become such a family member! I forgot how much he has grown, maybe because we hadn't seen you all during too many months of the Plague (as Art Straub calls it). Thanks for writing such a wonderful tale today, Lindsey.
Our little guy Tucker brings the same joy into our home. The weird thing is when he getting groomed, coming home to a hose without Tucker is SO empty! Our brief introduction to Chet at your parent’s house was so much fun. A ball of energy indeed. God bless you all....all of you!
6 years ago we adopted ‘Buddy’ who looked like a Chocolate Lab with a curled over the back tail. Funny eyes, like he was very wary, but a sweet lovable lap pup. He was born in the Pine Creek Indian Reservation, rescued by Benches in Mankato, then us. My daughter , Sara, who has rescued & neutered & spayed animals in her clinic in Tennessee, had a DNA done on Buddy. Turns out he is several breeds; Lab, Boxer, Malemute, Shepard. (I may have forgotten one). He is a great dog, husky & strong & doesn’t put up with the nonsense of the German Shepherd pup!! Judy.
Love reading your posts, many a time tears are shed for you and Lucas but enjoy your candor! Wish I could have heard your sermons, you have such a way with words ….Love, from a sometime Catholic but a great Christian 😍
I didn’t get a dog until I was in my forties. My kids bugged me incessantly about getting a dog so we went to the shelter to “look”! I should have known that was a trap! In the end, Kasey, our rescue Golden mutt was truly a gift and softened my soul to the joys of pet ownership!! Thanks for sharing your story!

Yes! I say 'Glory' too...and write this with Milly's head in my lap, our sweet evening ritual. 'Glory' indeed!

As a long time dog lover, I loved this. So glad that you and Lucas found Chet!
Love this story. Chet is adorable!! I believe dogs are one of Gods greatest gifts to man. Truly you can find the unconditional love of God in dogs!

Those pups do amazing things to their human’s hearts! They fill a void we didn’t even knew we had ♥️🐾
